Hop High

Native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, life-long resident of afore-mentioned city, and graduate of North Greenville College in the very same Upstate, you might wonder if JonPaul has sweet tea running through his veins and a palmetto and crescent moon on all of his worldly possessions. JonPaul was able to spend time in India trekking through the streets and Nepal trekking through the mountains and, like many who have gone before him, brought home an idea of what it meant to live in a big, big world made by a big, big God.

Spending most of her life branded an "army brat" after being raised in Germany, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and North Carolina, Carrie finally settled down with her family in Newnan, Georgia, and later graduated from Berry College (Rome, Georgia) with a Spanish and English degree. Carrie left pieces of her imagination in the streets of Spain after studying abroad in Sevilla and a short stint with the International Mission Board in Badajoz, before realizing that it was time to marry JonPaul and start life teammate-style.

Together JonPaul and Carrie, under God's leadership and guidance, made the move out to St. Louis, Missouri, at the beginning of the year 2009 to begin studies at Covenant Theological Seminary. God surprised them with parenthood that summer, and added a third member to their family - Lucy. In May 2011 God blessed them with their second child, their first son Judah.

So now what?

Well, for starters JonPaul wants to graduate (May 2012) with a Master of Divinity in preparation to serve in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). But the Watsons aren't quite sure what that's going to look like or where that's going to look like. For now, they want to be faithful to Covenant, St. Louis, and their family. But they know that eventually it will be time to look forward to their next destination.

Most importantly, they want to know that they have people like you (yes, you, the one reading this blog) supporting them in spirit and in prayer. They know that being a part of the Church means actually being a part of the Church - their local congregation and the church universal.

So join up! Add them to your blog roll. Add them to your prayer list. Email them and get on the update-email list.
